On Saturday August 8th, teachers, pupils and parents proudly carried Yarlet's giant puppets in the first ever Puppet Festival in Stone.
After two weeks of designing, painting and assembling, the puppets were first seen adorning the stage on speech day and then on the morning of the festival, transported via horse box, ready to join the parade down Stone High Street.
It was great to hear all the onlookers as they recognised the pupil puppets were from Yarlet. Abigael Pointon did a spectacular job of engaging all the children who wanted to see the dragon a little closer. Harriet and Charles Bane and Aaron Paris–Stickland supported the dragon's weight with a little help from the adults.
Everyone who participated had a fabulous time and could not stop smiling!
We were all very proud of our artistic efforts and of representing Yarlet in a local festival.
