FORM 8 TRIP TO GLADSTONE POTTERY MUSEUM

Gladstone Pottery Museum 003

On Tuesday 12th January, Mrs Hamplett took her Form 8 Art pupils to Gladstone Pottery Museum.

Pupils enjoyed the day learning about the history of pottery within Stoke on Trent and the skills and techniques required by potters to throw, decorate and glaze different types of clay.

After lunch the pupils took part in an Art deco workshop, where they learnt about Staffordshire famous pottery artist Claris Cliffe, incorporating some of her design ideas into designing and painting their own art deco plate.

A very enjoyable time was had by all and Mrs Hamplett would especially like to thank Mrs Cornes for her help during the day.
