Yesterday, Form 3 pupils enjoyed creating and measuring weather as part of their module on Weather and Climate in Geography.
They were tasked with creating a device that can measure rainfall or wind direction, or having a go at making their own weather types.
The pupils relished this opportunity, and with excellent teamwork skills, organisation and creativity produced some terrific devices.
Emily Cumberbatch, Louiza Wilcox, Fraser Dimberline and Izaak Bagshaw successfully created a "fog cloud", by mixing hot water with ice cubes, making a small cloud to hover just above the waterline as a result of the condensation present in the jar. Other groups created a rainbow (Katie Hewitson and Amelia Lucas), a wind-boat (Raphie Korylco-Bowers, Cameron Birchill, Henry Shaw, Reuben Whitby-Samways and Sienna Edwards) and a rain gauge (Freya Lloyd, Jessica Baines, Evelyn Mitchell and William Connell), which is now hanging outside Mr. Pass' room.
Well done to all Form 3 pupils (and some Form 4 helpers!) for your inventiveness and originality!
