Form 8 have been fantastic ambassadors for Yarlet school during their recent volunteering days at Katharine House Hospice.
Each year, we like to engage our leavers with a community project which takes them out of the school environment and sets them a challenge which involves them undertaking something worthwhile to benefit a local charity with which the school is connected.
This year, the pupils were tasked with improving the garden area at the Katharine House Hospice. They rubbed down and revitalized garden furniture with paint, planted pots and tubs, weeded and trimmed, removed moss from the slabs and generally spruced up several areas of the garden.
The end result looked beautiful, the children worked hard and should be very proud of their achievements. We hope that their efforts will help the patients and their families to enjoy the gardens during their stay at Katharine House.
