An action packed term for Forms 1 and 2
I hope that you have already begun to relax on your summer holidays. Our school year has come, as always, hurtling to an end and has culminated in a super final week of celebration and fun. Children have made great personal achievements all round and deserve a super summer break (whilst, of course, keeping up their handwriting, reading and counting!).
Yarlet Pre-Prep pupils performed very poignantly for our end of year assembly held in Centenary Hall, as well as for our Sports Day and Prize-giving ceremony. Forms One and Two had a fantastic time at Ainsdale Beach. It is a relatively 'undiscovered' location and we panicked at first as the ice cream van was absent, but with perfect timing it drove in just as were finishing our sand-castle building competition and were off to wash our hands. The weather was perfect, not too hot or sunny and definitely not cold. We have always been so lucky, weather-wise! Form Two largely provided a lot of the fun during the last week as they performed their original puppet show – The Land of Trog - to Pre-Prep and organised and manned the games played on the day of the teddy bears' picnic. Magic Chris did the rest and had us rolling in the aisles with his entertainment.
On a more studious note we teachers were happy to meet with parents of pupils in our classes to report on our pupils' academic and other achievements reached over the school year. We were also all impressed by the standard of the children moving into our classes next year, as we found out on our swop session. The children naturally move towards the goals aimed for in their next year's class and rise to all challenges seamlessly.
I hope that you have a lovely summer holiday. I wish all those pupils who are leaving us all the best in their new school environments and I look forward to seeing everyone else in September. A big thank you to all Yarlet staff, parents and children who make Yarlet the wonderful place it is. New Form 3s, don't forget to wave to us in Pre-Prep from the lofty heights of Main School!
