Yarlet School | U11 HOCKEY V DENSTONE

Girls Hockey 006

The U11 girls travelled to Denstone yesterday for a hockey match against their U12 team.

We defended hard in the first few minutes as our opposition towered over us and were unlucky to concede a goal but that gave us the shock we needed to spread out and keep strong.

We continued to pass it around to each other, making strong tackles and pushing forward. Harriet Bane made some lovely runs down the right wing and almost scored. Jessica Hood showed usome lovely skills and had many chances on the goal as we kept the pressure high, but was unlucky not to score.

It came in the second half, as our opposition tired, Evi and Grace D made the lead runs, supported by Jemima and Jessica H. They beat the quickly retreating defence and, battling hard, managed to score 4 goals in quick succession.

We won the match 4 - 1.  A very promising start to the Hockey season, well done!
