Two brilliant teams clashed in a very entertaining and tense match on Wednesday.
The Yarlet Under 9's took on the Birchfield Under 9's in a match that had many staff, pupils and even parents shouting, clapping and oohing and aahing over.
The result did not hamper the spirits of the boys, who played fantastically and wonderfully throughout, demonstrating good teamwork, skills and cooperation.
Birchfield took the win with a 9-3 score, but a great time was had by all.
The opposing team scored four goals in quick succession, which captain Luke Jones did not stand for, scoring his own goal at the last minute of the first match.
The second game held steady, with both sides playing defensive positions well. Fraser Dimberline was excellent in goal throughout.
Henry Shaw scored a terrific goal in the third game, helped immensely by Elliot Byrne, who made a terrific first impression for his first match.
Oliver Connell scored the third and final goal for Yarlet, and although our side lost, the boys returned in high spirits for the future.
