U9 FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT V EDENHURST

U9s Football v Edenhurst 19 Nov 2015 002

A thrilling series of tournaments ensured every player in the U9 team got a fair shot of taking part in Thursday's match against Edenhurst.

Ethan Squire, captain of the Yarlet "Cheetahs", ensured his team were raring to go with motivational support and excellent teamwork throughout the games. Henry Shaw, captain of the Yarlet "Leopards", likewise ensured his team were "on the ball" and showed brilliant sportsmanship throughout.

Edenhurst took the lead early on and, whilst our defence was strong, Edenhurst took two goals in the first game. Oliver Connell showed excellent passing skills, supported terrifically by Luke Jones and Jake Parker. Fraser Dimberline served well in goal, and defenders Reuben Whitby-Samways and Morgan Cooper kept the other side away from their half for the majority of the play. Leopards they were; some players were almost blurs as they tore up and down the pitch!

Yarlet "Cheetahs" played just as well and showed excellent teamwork - a great way to represent Yarlet's core values.
Caiden Holland played excellently in defence, supported by Izaak Bagshaw and Elliot Byrne. In goal, Theo Hargreaves stopped some very close goals. Up front, Jack Allbut, William Connell and Ethan Squire kept excellent pressure on the other team.
A fantastic tournament enjoyed by all.
