U9 NETBALL V THE RYLEYS

DSC 0256

On Tuesday the U9 girls played The Ryleys - a nail biting match from start to finish!

We played well, snatching the ball and making some lovely interceptions but our opposition's height was not in our favour! Amelia, Purdy and Sienna got into some lovely spaces, calling well for the ball. Freya defended hard and marked well at GK while Alice worked hard to get free from her player at C.

The score was tied 1-1 for the first quarter, 2-2 for the second quarter, then 3-3 for the third quarter, after cracking goals from Sophie, which meant it was all to play for in the last quarter of the game! Everybody switched on and we began to make more and more passes to each other. Ellen, Tilly and Louisa defended well and kept the ball in the attacking half. Sophie and Ella worked hard to keep possession and were rewarded with 2 more goals.

Our persistence paid off as The Ryleys failed to score in the last quarter which meant the final score was 5-3 to Yarlet. Well done team and thank you to our fabulous supporters for shouting from the side lines!
