The U9 powerhouse continued to steam roller the competition this week with another win against Stafford Prep.
This time, it was Oliver Connell, team captain who received Man of the Match for turning the tide during the last part of the first innings, who, with Elliot Byrne, scored an amazing 46 runs, securing a solid victory for the first half of the match.
Stafford Prep were strong, with some good bowling and fielding, but it was Yarlet who emerged stronger and faster each and every bowl.
The final score was Yarlet 137 runs to 8 wickets, just four runs ahead of their rivals. A close match indeed!
Luke Jones and Ethan Squire were on usual excellent form and worked hard to ensure their turn at batting was a successful one. Notable players include Reuben Whitby-Samways, who played for the first time and performed with a supportive attitude. Also Henry Shaw and Fraser Dimberline were strong players, and time and again gave Stafford Prep a run for their money. William Connell also showed great teamwork skills as he helped to rally the players and spur them onto greater heights.Congratulations boys, the U9's are making a true name for themselves in this sport!
