It was a match that almost never was, when the second half of the team in the minibus showed up whilst the first half had begun to play!
Slightly deterred by the arrival, and the new playing field inside the sports hall of Packwood, our boys nonetheless battled, fielded and bowled impressively throughout the game.
The game was tense (at various points there was only one run between the two teams), exciting (William and Oliver Connell making dashes from wicket to wicket as Packwood lost control of the ball), and at other points amusing (one of Packwood's players knocking a ball into the parents viewing platform, almost knocking one father off his seat!).
The boys played well, and continued to demonstrate their excellent progress, but did not quite make the win, losing 64 runs and 11 wickets to Packwood's 98 runs and 11 wickets.
Man of the match was undoubtedly Henry Shaw, who bowled and caught an amazing 7 wickets, a hat trick in one over!
Next time boys!
