U11 ROUNDERS V TERRA NOVA

U11 Rounders 8 June 001

The U11 girls met their rivals at Terra Nova on Wednesday for a rounders match.

We had been very unlucky in our recent matches so were keen to prove ourselves.

The first half wasn't particularly remarkable with errors from both teams so we will skip to the second half..... but not before mentioning Danielle and Jemima's impressive rounders from very well timed runs.

The score was 5 – 4 ½; we were just in the lead. The heat was beginning to tire Terra Nova and we knew we COULD win so we went into bat hitting it hard and taking risks. Jessica Hood scored an impressive 2½ rounders in total and Jemima managed 2 full rounders from fantastic hitting. Kirstie took some excellent risks, as did Freya – being rewarded with half a rounder each. We scored an impressive 7, a score we knew our opposition would struggle to beat.

In the last innings, our fielding innings was where we held our own. Jessica and Jemima had a fantastic relationship at backstop and first base, getting 5 girls out in succession. Jemima's one handed catch was so impressive! Kirstie was speedy on second base and stumped a couple of girls out. Even Freya Lloyd, making her debut for the U11 team, stopped hits and calmly fielded, along with Harriet.

Overall an impressive innings where Terra Nova only managed 3 rounders making the final score 12 – 7 ½

A BIG WELL DONE!!
