Yarlet School | U11 FOOTBALL V OLD HALL

U11 Football v The Old Hall 20 September

Old Hall started strongly and had much of the early possession creating a number of goal scoring opportunities.

However, they quickly conceded a goal due to a swift counter attack move by the Yarlet team. Following some highly skilful work on the inside left from Alfie, Noah was on hand to bring the score to 1-0 as he tucked the ball into the bottom right corner. A few minutes later Yarlet nearly scored a second goal. We were treated to some highly creative footwork in the penalty area from Alfie, but were unlucky when the ball hit the right post. Yarlet then sat too deeply, letting the opposing players dominate the midfield area and by half-time we were 3-1 down.
However, the second half was more evenly contested with goals from both teams. Alfie added to the Yarlet goal tally and Old Hall scored 3 goals towards the end of the match in response. The match was played with great spirit from both teams and the sporting conduct was a credit to all the players. The final score was 6-2 to Old Hall.
